23/08/2010 - The summer break being concluded, the Italian Formula 3 Championship is going to be back on track this weekend at Varano de' Melegari for the fifth of the eight rounds of the season.

Alberto Cerqui, winner last year of the Formula Azzurra title, is ready to face the second part of the season well determined to aim at results that can insert him in the fight for the podium of the rookies classification. The young talent from Brescia is currently fifth at 51 points, 24 shy of Giammarco Raimondo (Lucidi Motors), who holds the third position at the moment; the discard of the two worst results by law currently plays in his favour and the chances to finish the season on a top position are more than concrete.

Last year, this very track was theater of a great performance by Cerqui, who ruled since free practice and his dominion was confirmed both in qualifying and race one. A bumping in race two prevented him from an historic hat-trick.

Alberto Cerqui:
"The first four rounds of the season allowed me to to get more and more acquainted with the single seater: now the time is come to attack to aim at results that might end my first Formula 3 season in a positive way.
