HOCKENHEIM, PREVIEW: RENEWED HELMET GRAPHICS FOR A MOTIVATED ALBERTO CERQUI

08/06/2010 - The Italian Formula 3 Championship will stop at Hockenheim this weekend for the second round of the season.

The season opener at Misano at the end of April was conditioned by bad weather and it offered results different from expectations for several rookies who, at the first official exit, had to face also the lack of grip offered by the wet tarmac. Among these, Alberto Cerqui, now more motivated than ever to obtain in Germany the first points of the absolute classification and to reduce the 27 points gap that currently separates him from the leader of the rookies' classification.

The preparation to the German event started for the Italian driver in the middle of May with a test day devoted to learn the track and decide the setup for races and qualifying. The development work continued until last week with collective tests at Imola whereby positive indications, particularly, on the race pace, emerged.

At Hockenheim Cerqui will use for the first time a new racing helmet graphic on which the black jaguar and the tricolor, to represent the Italian title won last year in Formula Azzurra, will be present.

Alberto Cerqui:
"I liked Hockenheim since the beginning and I am well determined to leave my mark on this weekend. The level of the championship is high and probably it is going to be difficult to attack in the first part of the season those drivers that already have an International experience. A podium could still be possible anway as well as a good result among rookies".
