MUGELLO: A GOOD QUALIFYING AS FIRST OBJECTIVE TO AIM HIGH IN THE RACE

21/07/2010 - The Italian Formula 3 Championship is on stage this weekend at Mugello with the fourth round that will end the first part of the season.

The Tuscany track saw last year a stunning Alberto Cerqui recovering from the eleventh place to the third place of the podium of Formula Azzurra, a performance that contributed to relaunch him in the title run. This year, in Formula 3, the growth of the young talent from Brescia has been constant: three weeks ago in qualifying at Imola the top ten slipped out of his hands just for a tenth, a good performance in qualifying will be Cerqui's first target on Saturday from which aiming high in the two races.

Alberto Cerqui:
"Such an high level championship requires a lot of work to emerge: technicians of Team Ombra constantly work on the development of the car based on my indications and on those of my team mate and results are gradually starting to arrive. From my side, I had an initial period in which I adapted to a single seater sensibly faster than the Formula Azzurra and I'd say that now I am close to the levels of last year and I reckon I am ready to aim constantly to the points and, hopefully, to the podium of race two".

The event's programme follows (local time):
