| MONZA: ALBERTO CERQUI ENDS THE SEASON ON THE ROOKIES PODIUM |

24/10/2010 - Another podium of the rookies harvested by Alberto Cerqui at Monza in the final round of the Italian Formula 3 2010 Championship.
The young driver of team Ombra Racing, winner last year of the Formula Azzurra title, did not manage to go beyond the twenty-first time (1'49.270) in qualifying on Saturday as he was slowed down by some setup problems.
The talent from Brescia did not give up and in race one was protagonist of a strong recovery that took him up to the second place of the rookies and tenth absolute.
Race two was less lucky for him instead and it ended early during lap eight due to the switching off of his Dallara in consequence of a partial off-track excursion.
Cerqui ends the season fifth in the Rookies Trophy with 96 points, thanks to five placings on the rookies podium out of eight rounds.
Alberto Cerqui:
"It has been a weekend with highs and lows, but I am satisfied anyway for getting a podium of the rookies on my home track. The fifth final place is quite a positive result, considered the high level of competitiveness characterizing the Italian Formula 3 Championship; this season was useful for gaining a good experience, thanks also to the optimum support of the whole team Ombra Racing and I am sure that next year I will use it to aim high". |
