| 30.07.2018 - A fourth place among the rookies ended a quite tricky weekend for Alberto Cerqui, who has been contesting the sixth round of Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup 2018 at Hungaroring (H).
The Italian driver arrived at the circuit near Budapest resolute to bounce back from the difficult weekend of Hockenheim on the n.12 Porsche 911 GT3 run by team Dinamic Motorsport, despite the narrow and technical Hungarian circuit would not make it an easy task. Despite being well geared up for the event, Cerqui struggled to find the right setup of his car during free practice that he ended in P14. The Dinamic Motorsport's driver pushed hard in qualifying, but he was first slowed down by traffic and then a little mistake did not allow him to go beyond P17 with a best lap of 1'48.515s. A ninth row start required all his grit to be converted into a good result, therefore Cerqui did not hold back and got a good getaway recovering one position at the start. The cars formed a queue later on due to the features of the track that is similar to Monaco than to any other circuit, which made overtaking quite difficult. The Italian driver has driven with grit trying to close the gap to Gustav Malja (n.25) and ended fourth of the rookies being half a second short of the podium in sixteenth position. Alberto Cerqui: "I cannot be very happy about this race, I struggled to find a balance of the car suiting my driving style and therefore I could not push hard. In the race, I could not find the right gap for an overtaking, and it was a shame as I was close to the podium. I got some important points for the rookie classification, but the target at this point of the season is to find some solutions to improve the feeling with the car for the next race. I will work towards that starting from the tests in Monza on August 2nd ". Alberto Cerqui will get back on track at the legendary circuit of Spa-Francorchamps (B) after the summer break from August 24th to 26th.
