GREAT COMEBACK AND FIRST PODIUM OF THE SEASON FOR ALBERTO CERQUI AT PAUL RICARD |
|
22/06/2015 - The weekend at Paul Ricard, third round of the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo Europe, has been the turning point of the season that Alberto Cerqui had been hoping for at the eve.
Following the failure to the powersteering in qualifying, which forced the lineup of the number 6 Lamborghini Huracan to start from the fifth and eleventh position, in race one run on his birthday, Cerqui put in a great comeback that could have ended with the first victory of the season. In the second stint Barri has been leading the race until a few minutes to the flag, but he could not fend off the attacks moved by Patrick Kujala. The second place and the podium proved that with a competitive car Cerqui has all what it takes to fight for the victory.
Race two has been less lucky instead, as it ended early due to a problem to the differential when Barri recovered already three positions.
Alberto Cerqui:
"Our position in the standings is still far from our objectives, but the weekend at Le Castellet had a sweet note with the podium, joined to the improving competitiveness of the car. The support of my fans on grandstands did not go missing in France: I hope to award them with a victory soon.
The Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo Europe will resume next 22 July in Spa (B). |
