OPTIMISM AT THE EVE OF SHANGHAI'S RACE AFTER AN INTENSE PREPARATION WORK

01/11/2012 - The Asian final stages of the FIA WTCC continues this weekend in China with the penultimate round of the season scheduled in Shanghai that follows the Japanese round of Suzuka.

The circuit designed by Hermann Tilke is about to house for the first time the world touring cars championship and for a lot of drivers it will all to be discovered. This situation favours a rookie like Alberto Cerqui that is well determined to get a prestigious result in the Yokohama Drivers' Trophy. The young driver from Brescia prepared the Chinese weekend with special care, hopeful to show also at the wheel of the BMW 320TC that potential that took him to the victory of the Italian Superstars title last year.

Alberto Cerqui:
"After Suzuka I worked a lot at the simulator to prepare the round of Shanghai, where I hope I can get a good result. I also spent a few days at the headquarters in Padova to analyze deeply the data gathered in the last few races and to devise the best starting setup for this Friday: we get to China with a lot of preparation work done, hopeful that it has been fruitful. Moreover, the circuit is going to be new for most of the drivers, therefore it is going to be interesting to see who is going to interpret it better".
