ALBERTO CERQUI'S EXPECTATIONS AT THE EVE OF THE AMERICAN ROUND OF WTCC

19/09/2012 - After a two months break, FIA WTCC is about to make its debut in United States, more precisely in California, at the circuit of Sonoma, where the ninth round of the season will take place this coming weekend.

Alberto Cerqui is ready to face the final part of the 2012 World Championship, strongly motivated to confirm himself among the most promising rookies of the series. The young driver from Brescia is currently in sixth place of the Yokohama Drivers' Trophy and the final fifth position is a target not impossible to reach.

Alberto Cerqui:
"Sonoma is going to be a new circuit for the majority of teams and drivers which will put everyone virtually on the same starting point. The recent reduction of 20kg in BMW's minimum weight should allow us to be more competitive on the Californian up and downhills: I studied a lot the circuit at the simulator and I liked it since the beginning as it features some particularly technical sectors where it is possible to make the difference. Overtaking chances are not missing therefore I believe fans will enjoy two interesting races".
