ALBERTO CERQUI THRILLED WITH THE FEATURES OF THE SLOVAKIA RING

26/04/2012 - FIA WTCC is about to head to Czech Republic this weekend where the fourth round of the season is scheduled at the Slovakia Ring from Saturday on.

The world championship of grand touring cars will get on track for the first time ever on this circuit, that was opened in 2009 and is located 40km east of the capital Bratislava. This track is one of the longest of the calendar due to its 5.922 meters and will offer an important comparison between drivers as no one has ever raced here before.

Alberto Cerqui:
"I studied thoroughly this circuit at the simulator and I have to say that I was positively impressed by it. There are a few fast corners where it is important to partial on gas, but also quick direction changes and a bump where the car can even takeoff for a few instants. This is a very challenging mix that will be crucial to get used to in the only free practice hour available before qualifying as this time we will not run Friday's session as in Marrakech. On such a long circuit we will run only less than twenty laps therefore in this occasion free practice are going to be more crucial than ever".

The weekend's programme follows (GMT+2):

Saturday 28 April 2012
09.45 - 10.15: Free practice 1
12.30 - 13.00: Free practice 2
15.00 - 15.35: Qualifying

Sunday 29 April 2012
08.45 - 09.00: Warm-up
14.20: Race 1
15.35: Race 2

Qualifying and the two races will be live on Eurosport.
