THE FIGHT FOR THE TWO TITLES GETTING LIVELY AT MUGELLO

21/09/2011 - The Superstars Series will be at Mugello this weekend for the penultimate and red-hot round of the season.

The fight both for the Italian and International titles is more open than ever and has the young Alberto Cerqui among the protagonists and, despite his 19 years of age, he will reach the finale of his first season in closed wheel racing with the chance of becoming champion of both categories.

With 86 points still to be awarded in the tricolored series, the BMW Team Italy's driver is currently fourth at 66 points, 26 shy of the current leader Luigi Ferrara (Mercedes). In the International Series Cerqui is again fourth but with a 43 points gap.

Alberto Cerqui:
"The fight for both titles is still pretty much open and we will get on track determined to try everything to get them. My situation in the Italian classification is easier than that in the International one but the points to be awarded are still quite a lot therefore the recovery, despite not being easy, is still possible".
