04/04/2011 - As the intense preparation winter is finished, Alberto Cerqui is ready to run his first season as official BMW driver in the Superstars Series, starting this weekend in Monza.

Winter tests showed encouraging indications on the adaptation of the young Italian driver to the M3 BMW of BMW Team Italy, a much more powerful, though heavier car, than the Formula 3 he drove last year.

The race format of the Superstars Series includes one qualifying session to decide the starting grid; cars will follow a rolling start with the same positions on both races.

Alberto Cerqui:
"Monza is the first page of a new and thrilling chapter of my career. Winter tests allowed me to get to know the car and this makes me hopeful for qualifying and races even if I am aware I still have to acquire more experience before showing my best. I'd like to obtain the first points on BMW Team Italy and mine home circuit".

The weekend's programme follows (local time, GMT+2):

Saturday 9 April 2011
09.40 - 10.10: Free practice 1
12.20 - 12.50: Free practice 2
